Strengths Summary
Some of my strengths include demonstrating loyalty, offering developmentally appropriate preparations, and being a team worker. I have been described by peers and professors as expressing loyalty as I stand by friends' sides as they work through various struggles. By nature, I am not one to give up on someone easily. I desire to maintain a relationship that will celebrate success and uplift the discouraged.
My internship helped me fine tune my knowledge of explaining procedures, interventions, and the Child Life profession more clearly. I especially enjoy providing preparation for procedures to help children make connections between concrete knowledge and abstract medical ideas.
I understand that there is a time and place for both leading and following. While I may choose to take a leadership role in advocating for a specific population, I can also determine when to follow the advice and feedback of co-workers. In the same way, interactions with children can be directive or non-directive depending on what goal you are trying to accomplish. This ability to be flexible makes me a team worker.
