While completing my internship at Marshfield Children's Hospital, I implemented my knowledge of developmental theory to provide distraction, preparation, and support to children in the outpatient clinic, inpatient pediatric unit, NICU, both ambulatory and inpatient surgery, and children of adult patients. Also, I have participated in SibShops and a Teddy Bear Clinic.
As president of the Concordia Child Life Association, I have had the opportunity to learn how to lead and encourage fellow child life students. Along with other board members, I organize guest speakers, fundraising events, and service projects such as compiling toiletry kits for families staying at Ronald McDonald House.

Over the Summer of 2018, I had the privilege of completing a practicum at C. S. Mott Children's Hospital in the cardiology outpatient clinic along with shadowing CCLSs in the NICU, ED, and Hematology/Oncology units. During this experience, I observed how Child Life differs when interactions are done in outpatient and inpatient settings. Additionally, I learned how to apply my knowledge of developmental theories to how a CCLS conducts an intervention.
Over Fall 2017, I completed a field experience at C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital Pediatric Trauma Injury Prevention Program. As a part of this practicum, I learned about the impact of trauma on children and families and about preventing injuries. Along with my supervisor, I created developmentally appropriate programming for children in schools and education for community events.
During the Summers of 2014 and 2017, I volunteered at Riley Hospital for Children. As a part of this experience I was able to play with hospitalized children and help prepare for events held for the children. It strengthened my passion for child life, and my goal is to continue volunteering at children's hospitals in the future.

I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Granada, Spain for the fall semester of my sophomore year. I completed grammar and culture classes, volunteered with students with Asperger's, and planned my own travel experiences. This semester was the perfect opportunity to learn how to discuss cultural differences in a respectful way!

During the summers of 2015, 2016, and 2017 I worked at a summer daycare called Camp Cross Training at Ben Davis Christian Church. As a counselor, I was able to connect with the 2nd and 3rd graders in a meaningful way. Not only did we play together, we explored together at places like the county fair, we worked together during team-building activities, and we learned together during chapel time, reading time, and Bible time.
